Good morning venturers! Forgive me for having not posted five days after the last interview. I'm just busy with summer school and I haven't got to editing this next interview but I was up early this morning to finish it and finally have the pleasure of giving you Badz and her interview. I was actually excited to have her this morning because *squeals* it's a small world, we went to the same school during high school! How cool is that right? We've been sort of book friends on Tumblr and it's just yesterday that we both discovered Statefields School is a link that we shared apart from the books that is our haven.

Okay, forgive me for being bubbly this morning, let me introduce Bernadette Grace, the blogger behind the blog, abandonedmarionette (call her Badz, it's her nickname). Her blog is full of book photographs and a lot of fangirling stuff and a whole lot of books that could make you swoon because, wow, she owns A LOT of books and based on what I've seen in her blog so far, she's a very strong and opinionated woman who stands for what she believes in. Check out the interview below to know more.

When did you start book blogging?

Whenever people ask me when I started blogging, I tend to feel so old. You see, I started my Tumblr blog in December 2009, but it was only during 2011 that I made my blog more book-centered. And that is almost four years ago. But, one thing that only a few people knew (those who are very close to me) is that I was already blogging 2 years before I made my Tumblr blog. Back then, I was in my junior year in high school (2007) and the platform I used was Multiply. It actually made me sad that Multiply doesn't exist anymore because I was not able to archive all of my posts from the blog I used to have. Though I'd probably embarrass myself with my earlier content, I think it would still be nice to be able to look back on how my brain functioned when I was younger.

How did you start your blog? Did it occur to you that you are already a book blogger or your love for books just can't be contained that you incorporated it almost everyday in your post?

It was actually my younger sister who introduced me to the world of Tumblr blogging. I didn't consider my blog as a book blog when I started. It was more personal and was an online diary of sorts. My blog was peppered with more reblogs than my own content. I was just enjoying the newness of the site/platform and I following all sorts of blog that interested me.

It was only two years later(2011) that I started making my blog more book-centered. I figured that if there's one thing I could keep up with constantly, it was reading. So, might as well share it with the world and find people who has the same love for books like I do. Originally, I just wanted to broaden my spectrum with the types of books I'm reading but I found several amazing book bloggers that inspired me to post my own thoughts about reading. And that was how I started looking up more book/reading-related blogs, sharing my own passion for books, posting my own book reviews, interacting with a lot of other bookworms, etc.

How often do you post on your blog?

It varies from time to time. When I was still in college, I was very limited since I had a lot of other priorities to focus on. During my earlier years (freshman and sophomore), I was able to visit my blog and post my own content daily, usually multiple times a day. But during the later years (junior to 5th year/internship) it went down to a couple of time a week to even just once every two week(especially during clinical internship). When I graduated, I got back on track and try to post at least once a day.

I usually find it easier to frequently post book-related photos, book quotes, and reading updates. For full book reviews, I usually post once or twice a week, depending on my mood and whether or not a book is worth reviewing. I also do book haul posts(usually during the first week or after I bought the books) and reading wrap-ups(last day of the month or first week of the following month).

Do you always go on book signing events? How do you feel whenever you meet that person behind our treasured books?

Book signing events in the Philippines is not a very common event. It happens a few times a year, and usually, the authors who come visit the country doesn't interest me. Sure, for some, I like their books. But not really on a scale that I'd kill to go on the book signing.

The only ones I went to were Lang Leav's and Marie Lu's. And it was a very surreal experience equivalent to being starstruck whenever I meet famous celebrities. It's very humbling to be in their presence. It's a different thing reading the story they wrote and actually interacting with the person behind the awesome book.

Oh and I am still waiting for my most favorite authors to visit us. *ehem*JK Rowling, Markus Zusak, Sarah J. Maas *ehem*

Top 3 favorite Filipino book bloggers

And finally, Leys, my awesome friend and rant-buddy book blogger (http://khaleysi-14.tumblr.com/)

Top 3 favorite International book bloggers
Manda (http://bookmad.tumblr.com/) --my first ever foreign bookworm friend, the queen of sass, and the one responsible for the sudden surge of my international followers. Because of her, I have more American readers that Filipinos. :P
Sarah (http://treesofreverie.com/) --another very dear friend I met online from Australia who host crazy fun readathons!
Candi (http://tokillabookworm.tumblr.com/) --my newest friend who I fangirl over books, manga, anime, and korean dramas with.

Best buddy in the book blogging community

Probably Jen from http://abitlovely.tumblr.com/ because we also became friends on Facebook and constantly talk about books and other obsessions. I also saw her in person once, but I was too shy to walk up and say hi. Haha.

The thing with being a fangirl, is that it's never just a thing. You're either serious or you're not. So, I guess what I'm saying here is.. YES. I AM A FREAKING CRAZY SERIOUS FANGIRL. Oh and it kills me to select just three, but anway:

Any message?

To everyone, book blogger (new or old) and other bloggers as well. Be true to yourself. Blog because you love doing so and not because you want to impress people. Ignite your passion for whatever thing, be it reading or something else. Respect yourself and respect other people in the blogging community. And lastly, never ever be ashamed of what you love. Be proud and own it. :D

A blogger, a journalist, and most of all a writer. A talented woman with an awesome personality and writing skills  that could leave you in awe, her blog consists of personal thoughts, books and writings that you just want to reblog because you can relate into most of it. Forgive me for the About the Blogger section below is not yet updated but here's a little bit more that I gathered about her.

She graduated a Magna Cum Laude from Emilio Aguinaldo College-Manila, I know, she's awesome like that! She has few articles published at CandyMag (I'd have to dig first for the link) and now she writes on a newspaper. I am not at all knowledgeable about all of the things about her but that's all I can say about my Book Twinnie! Now let's go for the interview!

When did you start book blogging?

My blog didn't really start out as a book blog. I made it around early 2012 and when I started getting obsessed about books, that's when I started blogging about it which was around late 2012.

How did you start your blog? Did it occur to you that you are already a book blogger or your love for books just can't be contained that you incorporated it almost everyday in your post?

So like I said( Napre-empt ko na pala haha), I started out as a personal blog. It was more of an online diary where in I wanted to voice out what I felt, but somewhere along the way I started to get really obsessed with reading that I needed to express what I felt because I didn't really have much friends who were into reading at the time. I felt so alone with all of these feelings about the books that I have so I decided, what better place to share what I felt than my blog.

How often do you post on your blog?

I try to post at least 3-4 times a week. On weeks that I'm not busy I post more but on weeks that I am, I try my best to post at least once.

Do you always go on book signing events? How do you feel whenever youu meet that person behind our treasured books?

I've only been to two so far-- Mitch Albom and VTR( Veronica Rossi, Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs). Although I only had my book signing by Tahereh. I keep on trying to go but for some reason, I have the most hectic sched when these booksignings occur. I wasn't able to have my booksignined by Mitch Albom in person because of the amount of people but when I met Tahereh, I felt like I couldn't speak hahaha. It was so surreal.

Top 3 fictional boyfriends
(Which actor would you see them in real life?)

Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars- Even before the TFIOS movie came out, I could never really picture any specific actor to play augustus waters although I think Ansel Elgort really did a good job portraying him.
Aaron Warner from the Shatter Me series- DANE DEHAAN!! The entire time I was reading the book, I was really picturing Dane the whole time. I don't know why but it seems like it's such a perfect match. There's something in both of them that feels so attractively villainous!! If there would ever be a movie adaptation of this book, I seriously want Dane to portray Warner hahaha
Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the french kiss- I really don't have anyone specific in mind haha

Any message?

Just be yourself and just keep on sharing your book feels! Don't feel the need to blog a certain way just to reach out to fellow bookworms. Just be yourself when you post and don't hesitate to connect with other bookworms online.

Hola! How are we doing today? Me? Well, I have Elaine on the blog and I am pretty much happy that I have the talented Elaine answer questions today. *dance dance* She has a wonderful creative spirit (check her art blog. PRETTY AWSM!), she's very friendly and a freaking fan girl. *screeams* Uh-uh, talk about GOT/ASOIAF? Yuh-uh, you found the right fangirl my dears!

When did you start book blogging?

I created my Tumblr blog about 4 years ago, but I started posting books just last year. I think it became official when I changed my username to elainewillread.

How did you start your blog? Did it occur to you that you are already a book blogger or your love for books just can't be contained that you incorporated it almost everyday in your post?

I consider my blog as just an ordinary blog that happens to have a lot of posts about books. "Book Blog" is just a label. Still, I appreciate it when people acknowledge it as one.

How often do you post on your blog?

I usually make my posts on weekends, and queue everything for weekdays. On good days, I'd post random stuff. I'm mostly MIA, though.

Do you always go on book signing events? How do you feel whenever youu meet that person behind our treasured books?

I go on book signing events whenever I can, or when I'm familiar with the author coming to the event. I feel absolutely thrilled, and I'm still hoping to meet my favorite author. If not here, then on another country. And if not there, then in a parallel universe.

Top 3 fandoms?
Are you a serious fangirl?

Among all fandoms, I think A Song of Ice and Fire by GRRM really got me. I buy GOT/ASOIAF related merchandise, and if I can't, I mentally note them for future reference.

Top 3 fictional boyfriends?
(Which actor would you see them in real life?)
Etienne St. Clair (Anna and the French Kiss) - Callan Mcauliffe
Ryan Dean (Winger) - Dane DeHaan
Jon Snow (A Song of Ice and Fire) - Kit Harington is already a perfect fit.

Any message?

Guys, I'm proud of you. I'm proud of us. On a serious note, it's fun be a bookworm. It doesn't matter if you're a blogger or not. If you read one book a month, or five in a year. If you love books, you love books.

Three virtual friends bonded by their love for books who wanted to keep themselves private are the bloggers behind our featured blog of the week. We may be calling them via their pseudonyms and despite the fact that there won't be any face to represent these amazing bloggers, I think we can all agree that our wireless instinct to instantly like a Filipino book blogger would come in handy. I enjoyed reading their interview and I hope you do too.

When did you start book blogging?

The Undomestic Fangirl: We started getting seriously into blogging in 2014.

The Daydreamer Reader: Before TBD (The Bookwhore Diaries), I have been an inconsistent blogger of all things. I even made blogs that act as personal diaries. Before 2013 came, I usually post my reviews on Goodreads. Now, I am a part of this awesome blog and being able to read, review and promote authors and their works makes me feel fulfilled as a reader.

I Think Like A Goddess
: I started blogging when I was 15 (I’m 21 right now!), but I was exposed to the community when we started The Bookwhore Diaries in 2013.

How did you start your blog? Did it occur to you that you are already a book blogger or your love for books just can't be contained that you incorporated it almost everyday in your post?

The Undomestic Fangirl: It started out as just for fun. We wanted to be able to share our reads and also to express our love of the books we read. Basically, we are fangirls who wanted to let our feels out.

The Daydreamer Reader: I was actually invited by The Undomestic Fangirl to post book-related stuff on the blog and so far, I am loving it.

I Think Like A Goddess: My love for books is over the top, I mean, I could read 3 to 4 books a day and I will never get tired doing it. Before creating TBD, I was just a plain writer who criticizes a specific book then discuss it with my friends, but when TBD comes into my life, I realize that reading is so much more. Like there was this need that I had to share my thoughts and feelings to other people. And it really makes me happy when I see the pageviews going up, because at some point someone spared their time to read our blog posts.

How often do you post on your blog?

The Undomestic Fangirl: I didn’t really start posting often on the blog. I was a student struggling to balance my studies, reading and now, blogging. But after we got the hang of it, we post 4-6 times a week. With the help of my co-bloggers of course. J

The Daydreamer Reader: I post regularly on the blog. My posts are usually reviews and blog tours.

I Think Like A Goddess: I don’t have a specific date or time or the number of times I post in a week. I just write whenever I have free time or I have read a good book or a not so good book. It really depends on what kind of book I have read, my mood, and my schedule.

Do you always go on book signing events? How do you feel whenever you meet that person behind our treasured books?

The Undomestic Fangirl: The first book signing event I went to is Alyson Noel’s. After I got my books signed, talked to her and heard her interview, I was full of joy for days. So after that, I went to the next book signings. After I graduated and got a job, I wasn’t able to continue attending though. Life gets in the way, sadly.

I Think Like A Goddess: Actually, I’ve never been on a book signing event, because when we started TBD, I was a student and Junior and Senior years are the most demanding time in college. Although, I’ve been wanting to attend one, it just doesn’t fit my schedule before, but now I have more free time I think I’ll get the honor to meet our beloved authors!

Top 3 fictional boyfriends
(Which actor would you see them in real life?)

The Undomestic Fangirl: I’m in a complicated relationship and ranking them will get me in trouble.

I Think Like A Goddess: Can I state my top 20? HAHAHAHA! So here’s my top 3 (I just picked them randomly from my top 20 ‘coz they’re all the love of my life)

Gabriel Emerson (Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard) JAMES FRANCO
Jack Carter (The Perfect Game by J. Sterling) ZAC EFRON or DYLAN O’BRIEN
Drew Evans (Tangled by Emma Chase) IAN fucking SOMERHALDER

Top 3 fandoms? Are you a serious fangirl?

The Undomestic Fangirl: It’s so serious, it’s scary. LOL. I can’t rank my fandoms, sorry.

Any message?

The Undomestic Fangirl: Read and write what you love. Be honest. It’s your blog, do what YOU want with it. For readers, keep on reading. ;)

The Daydreamer Reader: Keep reading, for knowledge does not only come from the classroom and your experiences but also the other worlds you come to visit through your books.

I Think Like A Goddess: Read. Read. Read. Write. Write. Write. Reading changed my life. Try it and you’ll figure it out! Just believe in yourself and never ever stop dreaming. Dream Big.

Hola! Inah is in for an interview here at Venture Through Pages. Inah is our first blogger for the month of June. Isn't it amazing? Yep, yeah it is. Inah is one of the bloggers behind the blog, The Bibliophile Confessions, but we only have her for this interview and I am so excited. Here it goes:

When did you start book blogging?

I started book blogging last year, May 2014.

How did you start your blog? Did it occur to you that you are already a book blogger or your love for books just can't be contained that you incorporated it almost everyday in your post?

My blog was originally a personal blog with entries about my life, but then I needed something to channel my love for books so I started posting a few book reviews along with personal entries. Then I decided to transform my blog from a personal online journal to a book blog.

How often do you post on your blog?

I  post 3-4 times a week, but there are times when I’m so busy that I tend to have weeks without anything posted so I’m really working on that.

Do you always go on book signing events? How do you feel whenever youu meet that person behind our treasured books?

Not always, but I often do. Book signings are the best because not only I get to meet authors, I also get to make new friends!  My first ever book signing was Gayle Forman’s book signing last January 2014. It was the best thing ever because she was one of my favourite authors. But I think the best one I attended was Stephanie Perkins’ signing because it was on my birthday. Haha! I mostly attend book signings of authors with books that I’ve already read.

Meeting the person behind the books that I love is really amazing because I could personally tell them how much I treasure their books. I make it a point to always mention it to them before I run out of things to say and freak out in front of them. Hahaha!

Top 3 favorite Filipino book bloggers

Top 3 favorite International book bloggers

Top 3 fandoms? Are you a serious fangirl?

Harry Potter
Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus
Supernatural (TV Series)

A serious fangirl? Hmmm, I think everyone can be a serious fangirl in their own ways. But, I guess I am. I’m sort of a multifandom type of person because I tend to love a lot of things, not only books. I watch a lot of TV Shows and Movies. I love Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Arrow, How To Get Away With Murder, Agents of Shield, Suits and many more. I love Marvel. I also love listening to indie/alternative bands like Bastille, The 1975, COIN, Grizfolk, Magic Man, Walk The Moon, Haim and Kodaline but I also listen to mainstream bands like The Script, Coldplay, OneRepublic and Imagine Dragons… okay the list is really that long so yeah, fangirls ftw!

Top 3 fictional boyfriends

Cricket Bell (Lola and the Boy Next Door)
Noah Shaw (Mara Dyer Trilogy)
Camden Campbell (How I Fall/How I Fly)

I suck at fan casting. I really really do, but I’d love to see Daniel Sharman as Noah Shaw. <3

I’m no expert in book blogging but I would say that blog about what you love. Book Blogs doesn’t have to be just strictly about books. Let your readers have a glimpse of your personality with your posts. Meet new people, they can be readers, fellow bloggers and  even authors! And most of all, have fun with what you’re doing!

The Bibliophile Cofessions

I am a total procrastinator. I am an aspiring photographer and a frustrated writer. I fangirl a lot, literally a lot (check my Tumblr, you’ll see). Some of my fandoms include Harry Potter, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones, Arrow, Agents of SHIELD and Teen Wolf. Geeking out is one of my talents, I guess.
